“Reduced price at Petrobras that does not reach the consumer is annoying”, says Chambriard

“Reduced price at Petrobras that does not reach the consumer is annoying”, says Chambriard

Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard admitted to being uncomfortable with the fact that end consumers have not yet benefited from the reductions in fuel prices implemented by the state-owned company. The most recent adjustment made by Petrobras occurred at the beginning of this month, with the announcement of a reduction of R$0.16 in the price of diesel .

“The price reduced by Petrobras that does not reach the end consumer bothers us. But it bothers us even more when this product does not reach the consumer who buys it with the Petrobras logo,” said Chambriard in an interview given to GloboNews , this Thursday (15).

Chambriard also denied putting pressure on Ibama to authorize drilling a well in the Foz do Amazonas Basin, on the Equatorial Margin. At the time, she was questioned about sending a letter to Ibama this week informing it about preparations for drilling.

“It’s not pressure, it’s a response. Last year, we committed to delivering on Ibama’s last demands, and the last demand was another fauna de-oiling center in Oiapoque. Since we delivered everything at the beginning of April and it’s already the end of May, every week we tell Ibama: ‘Look, we’re ready,’” said Chambriard.

Chambriard used Trump's campaign slogan to defend drilling in the Equatorial Margin

Chambriard used the campaign slogan of US President Donald Trump to defend oil exploration in the Equatorial Margin. “Let's drill, baby” was one of the most used by the politician to defend domestic oil production.

Chambriard's use of the expression occurred during a panel at a conference in Houston, United States, earlier this month.
